In Ilorin, commercial transport operators, including tricycle and motorcycle riders, protested a sudden hike in petrol prices, leading to significant disruptions in the city. The protest, which took place on Thursday, blocked major roads and caused severe traffic delays, forcing commuters to walk to their destinations. Protesters expressed frustration over rising fuel costs, claiming they are now making less profit despite charging more for fares. The protest remained peaceful, thanks to the presence of security forces, but it caused major inconvenience for residents. Petrol prices in the area have risen to between N950 and N1200 per litre.
