Ondo Women Stage Half-Naked Protest Against Suspected Herdsmen's Deadl
In the Uba-Oka Akoko community of Ondo State, women staged a peaceful protest against the repeated killings by suspected herdsmen, following the recent brutal murder of a farmer, Sunday Ayeni. Ayeni was found dead on his farm with severe machete wounds, shortly after receiving compensation from herdsmen for damage to his crops. The women, who protested half-naked to the palace of their traditional ruler, accused the herdsmen of also raping women and destroying crops. They urged the government and security agencies to intervene. The police are currently investigating the killings.
