NIPCO Gas, in partnership with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), has launched the Lekki Gas Distribution Project to supply natural gas to industries in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos. The project, which has a capacity of over 100 mmscfd, will provide cleaner, more affordable energy, reducing energy costs and boosting industrial growth in the area. This initiative is expected to attract more businesses to the zone due to advantages like proximity to the seaport and improved logistics. Additionally, gas distribution is being extended to Ibadan and Abeokuta, fostering broader industrial development. The project also supports Nigeria’s AutoCNG initiative, helping to lower fuel costs and reduce the country’s fuel import bill.
