The Enugu State Police Command has arrested 67-year-old Uwakwe Eze and 48-year-old native doctor Enuwa Odugu for the murder of Eze’s 26-year-old son, Chikwado Celestine Eze. According to police spokesperson DSP Daniel Ndukwe, Chikwado, who recently secured a visa to travel abroad, visited Odugu’s shrine for a fortification ritual before his departure. However, during the ritual, Chikwado was reportedly placed in a coffin and later died.

Odugu has confessed to the crime, alleging that Chikwado’s death resulted from not following certain prescribed ritual guidelines. Chikwado’s body was confirmed dead at a hospital and placed in a mortuary pending an autopsy. The case remains under investigation, and the suspects will be charged once investigations are completed.
