Buy Petrol At ₦1,000 Per Litre Or CNG At ₦200

President Bola Tinubu has advised Nigerian motorists to choose between paying N1,000 per liter for petrol or opting for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) at N200 per Standard Cubic Meter. Speaking during a meeting with NIPCO executives at the State House in Abuja, the President commended NIPCO’s support for the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) and its role in promoting CNG as an alternative fuel source. He noted that CNG aligns with his administration’s goals for energy security, economic diversification, and providing affordable fuel options to Nigerians.
President Tinubu underscored the benefits of CNG as a cleaner, cost-effective fuel that reduces both carbon emissions and fuel expenses for consumers. He also introduced incentives to help commercial motorists transition from petrol to gas at no cost. Furthermore, he encouraged NIPCO to expand Nigeria’s CNG infrastructure and continue contributing to the nation’s energy goals.
NIPCO’s director, Ramesh Kasangra, expressed gratitude for Tinubu’s support, reaffirming NIPCO’s commitment to building CNG infrastructure nationwide. Kasangra highlighted NIPCO’s long-standing investment in Nigeria’s energy sector, pledging further partnership to advance the country’s energy transition.
